Lanier Cordell is a nationally accredited public relations professional and has worked as public relations, marketing, and advertising consultant for over 30 years. In addition to Virginia Intermont College equestrian program and the Intercollegiate Dressage Association, her client list includes several boarding and riding lesson facilities, equine assisted psychotherapy practices, and more located throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the UK. She works with any size budget and her clients typically see an increase in revenues of more than 25%, usually without any increases in their marketing budgets.
Lanier frequently presents her widely acclaimed Equinomics workshops to horse industry professionals throughout the country in conjunction with such organizations as the Horse Owners Association of Alberta, Equine Affair, the North American Horseman’s Association, the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association, and many more.
Lanier has written articles for numerous regional and national publications and regularly contributes marketing columns to Quarter Horse News, Dressage Today, Practical Horseman, the American Riding Instructor Association’s –Riding Instructor magazine, the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Associations newsletter, and writes and edits several newsletters including The Hoof Beat for
Lanier's daughter, deSaix Hill is a hunter/jumper trainer/riding instructor who began riding at the age of 2. Her son, Stephen Tankersley, a ferrier, also began riding at an early age and does team roping. Their children - Haley 16, Hunter 6 and Devon 4 all ride. Austin 14 much prefers video games.

Lanier lives on a 32 acre horse farm shared with 4 grandchildren, their parents, 4 dogs, 6 cats, 8 horses with a number of chickens coming in the near future.
